The most expensive thing left is going to be getting a downpipe made.

I have Greg @ Go=Autoworks fabbing a New downpipe for me for a great price. Tell him i sent ya and he might cut ya a break.

edit: if you have skills you can buy a 2 J pipes and cut them and fab your own DP.

Start with the Flange off and make the 1st turn down and back..

then mount the flange on the turbo and you can pretty much measure and eyeball the rest.

I know a guy that's been doing exhaust work for 30 plus years so I'm going to get him to make the down pipe & dump tube for the wastegate. He'll give me a good price on it so I couldnt see it being over $350 for both. I'll take some pics tomrrow of recent work!

RE: mmmm, boost! Updates Feb 24th 2010
Yea the dump tube probably isn't going to fit, this is the kinda *poopy* that happens on your first turbo build lol. I'll have to get it bent again, there's 2 or 3 inches inbetween the turbo and dump tube so I can get it made closer to the turbo. The dipstick housing is just bent that way so I can use the dipstick, it wont fit inbetween the manifold logs. The motor that's in my car now is the one I'm going to be boosting. The one on my engine stand is just a bare bloack with my other head on it to mock up parts.

I would have it turn towards the pass side then start the turn down...that way youll have room.

RE: mmmm, boost! Updates Feb 24th 2010
A few updates. Got my hondata intake manifold gasket, got my flywheel resurfaced so i dropped the tranny, put the new flywheel on and replaced the throwout bearing. I filled my rear & passenger side motor mounts with polyurethane so I'm waiting for them to dry, once they are the tranny will go back in. Then the intake manifold will be bolted back up, I drilled & tapped a hole in the intake manifold for a vacuum source for the BOV. installed my sandwich plate, feed line to the turbo and wired up my oil pressure gauge. Once all that is back together it'll be getting towed to my friends, since he has a car hoist we figured it'd be easier to do the steering rack there. He also has torches so the header will be coming off as well, and on goes the turbo/manifold/wastegate.

Also so picked up some wheels... Big Grin
