DYED MY CARPET AND MATS
So I saw this diy on fla. honda crew and decided to try it a little different. Total it took about 5 days and it was honestly a huge pain in the ass, if you live in the country or have plenty of room to work with it would be much easier. (sorry bout the celly pics)
- I used 6 bottles of RIT black dye, and two canisters of iodized salt ![]() - Start by boiling as much water as you can, mixing in the salt so that it dissolves. This requires a lot of water, I ended up using 4 pots on all of the stove, if you can think of a better way more power to you. When the water is almost to a boil, pour it in a tub or can. As you see i used a trash can. ![]() - As the tub/trash can fills up, keep pouring in the dye (ive heard people using 8 bottles of dye, or even 4, so i just used 6) I filled the trash can between 1/2 and 3/4 full. Then put the carpet in and "massage" what you can, make sure that it is all submerged, and try to make sure that there arent any sharp creases in the carpet. I left it in for about 62 hours(about 2 1/2 days). - the original carpet and mats ![]() ![]() - When you decide its time to pull the carpet out, grab a hose and wash it down until the water is clear and no dye is washing out. Then lay it out flat to dry. (helps if you dont live in Florida and it doesnt rain everyday....good times) ![]() _Once it dries just intall and enjoy! like i said it was a pain in the ass but my carpet looked like garbage so this looks 10 x better. I'll try to get better pics of the interior, i realize you cant really see it well with the sun and the shadows, but its pitch black. I also threw my mats in for the 2 days that the carpet was drying, they came out well also! ![]() ![]() P.S. WEAR GLOVES OR WRAP GARBAGE BAGS AROUND YOUR ARMS!!!!!!!!

I got the dye at Wal Mart, its in the laundry section, about 2 bucks a bottle, and the salt is like 99 cents, very cheap effective way to clean up your whip. $10 buck renovation
