apparently with a 96-98 you're factory head unit DOES affect other settings
when it's removed...someone else will have to chime in with what exactly bc I
have the (better) 99-00 version Toungue

you need the code if you unplug the factory head unit and re-install it, it should
not power up w/o the code being entered. I've only had to do it once ever, and it
was on my old '92 Accord.

Well what some people experience with removing their stock head unit in a 96-98 are:
-OEM keyless entry quits working.( I had a friend that this happened to.)
-Dome light does not light up when door is open, make sure the switch is in the center for the door trigger to cut it on.(Mine still works and I've put in an aftermarket head unit)

I think those are the only two things. If there is anything I missed just say something.
